2012/13 Season Results

The first season of the North West & Central Regional League is now complete.

Many thanks to our divisional organisers Matt Carter, Anthony Kingdon and Claire & Steve Brewer, without their hard work running these leagues would not be possible. Thank you also to all of the teams for entering and competing, and everyone who helped run the tables, referee, and filled in at various tournaments. I do hope you enjoyed yourselves and found the competitions rewarding.

The winners of the North West & Central Regional Leagues 1st season are;

Division 1 Winners: Pennine B   Runners Up: Viking X

Division 2 Winners: Loughborough Students   Runners Up: Notts A

Division 3 Winners: LUCC   Runners Up: Manchester Wildcatz Youth

Division 4 Winners: Lakeland CC   Runners Up: Manchester Wildcatz Ladies

There are a number of changes planned for next season, including the splitting of Division 4 into two more localised divisions based at Cheadle, Manchester for the NW and Derby for the Midlands. We are also expecting another 10 new teams to enter the league next season at a variety of levels. This should create more competitive divisions and hopefully make your continued participation more enjoyable and worthwhile. If you have any comments or suggestions on the past season please get in touch so we can look at improving the leagues further.

I hope you are beginning to look forward to next season already. We are aiming to have the 2013/14 season entry forms released within a month’s time.

Expanded Divisions for 2013/14

Building on the great success over the last 12 months we are happy to announce that for the 2013/14 season, the North West & Central canoe polo regional league will be expanded from 34 to 42 teams.

This change allows us to split division 4 into two regional divisions, to shorten travel time for teams just starting out in the sport.

Following this expansion, we also hope to bring competitive canoe polo to another new indoor venue, again widening the reach of our sport in terms of possible audience and usable facilites. More information and updates coming soon!

League results so far

The first season of the NW & C league is now over two thirds complete. So far the leagues have seen plenty of close fought & competitive games in every division.

At this stage of the season, due to having completed all of the division 2 tournament dates, we can crown the first divisional winner of the year. Congratulations to our inaugural Division 2 champions Loughborough who completed the entire season undefeated. To see the final league table, please click here.

The current league tables from Division 1, 3 and 4 are available in the links below.

If you would like to see individual game results from each tournament, they are available on each divisions page in the drop down menu (we’re still waiting on some results – apologies).

Provisional Groups and Dates Released

Hello All,

Thank you for entering the first season of the North West and Central regional league!

Attached  you will find the provisional dates for all the tournaments, teams have until the 18th July to make me aware of any problems they may have in attending a scheduled tournament. Each team will attend 4 out of the 5/6 tournaments. Please let me know if you will struggle to attend one, and I’ll do my best to make sure your team misses this tournament.

I have taken in to account all the National League and major canoeing dates, although I may have missed one or two. I’ll do my best to rectify any additional clashes providing you get back to me by the 18th.

University Teams are excluded from the September Dates, so you must be able to attend the remaining tournaments, if there are any issues here, please contact me urgently.

The final dates and playlists will be published on the 20th July. Unless there are any major unforeseen clashes, this will just reaffirm these provisional dates.
