CALL FOR LEAGUE ORGANISERS

As you know, the committee is a small one – we are therefore asking for your assistance in helping to run the league this year. I currently have two volunteers who have offered to act as league organisers, however a further two individuals would be appreciated to ease the burden of running the divisions. I would be grateful if you would be able to circulate this request to your members in case any of them are interested. The role requires around 2 hours of work prior to the start of the season and a further hour prior to each tournament to prepare. You will not be required to attend tournaments as long as there is someone there on the evening to help run things and the tournament box is at the venue. You will also get the division polo ball to keep at the end of the season (in case that is any motivation)! If you/ anyone within your club is interested in volunteering, please contact leagues_coordinator@nwcpololeague.co.uk for details.

REFEREEING

Within the region it has been acknowledged that there is a lack of practically qualified referees, both at lower and higher levels. The committee, with the assistance of higher qualified referees is attempting to address this problem over the course of the next seasons. The aim is to run a referee course in the North West at some point during the season (hopefully near the start), with regular opportunities for assessment and signposting to assessors throughout the remainder of the season.  With this in mind, please ask your members if they wish to either attend a referees course or undergo practical assessment (regardless of the Grade) and email Chris Tighe (secretary@nwcpololeague.co.uk) with the number of individuals who wish to attend a course/ be assessed and the team name.  Further communication with details of the referee course and opportunities for assessment will be circulated prior to the start of the season.

If you have any additional queries prior to making your entries please do not hesitate to get in touch.
